FAQs

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes. We ask for at least 24 hours of notice. If a session is cancelled within 24 hours of its scheduled time, then hours can be lost. The first cancellation within 24 hours will be excused, but any session cancelled thereafter without 24 hours notice will result in a loss of hours.

How does rescheduling work?

Each session can only be rescheduled once and must be rescheduled with 24 hours notice to avoid loss of hours. For example, if a 1-hour session needs to be rescheduled and 24 hours notice was provided, then there is no loss of hours. However, if that same session is rescheduled again, with or without 24 hours notice, then 1 hour will be lost and another hour will be used when the session finally takes place.

How do I cancel or reschedule a session?

Email us at contact@ihaveamathdegree.com.

Can I schedule a session that has a fractional number of hours? For example, 1.5 hours.

Yes, it just has to be at least one (1) hour, and the number of minutes must be 15, 30, or 45. For example, if a three-hour session is scheduled for two students, then each student can meet with a tutor for 1.5 hours (1 hour and 30 minutes) or any combination thereof where they both have at least one hour, and the session time is maxed out.

What if I schedule a session and we don't use the entire time?

Each session should be scheduled with the intention to use the entire time. Should the session end early for any reason that is not the tutor's fault, then the scheduled time is what is deducted from the number of hours an account has.

Does ihaveamathdegree.com provide work for students?

We can. We ask that the student or parent have a specific goal in mind, and we then can find resources that can help with that need. For example, if a student wants to prepare for the SAT, then we have e-books designed for that purpose that we can practice problems out of. We do not give homework. We simply provide the resources and help that we can during scheduled sessions.

Does every tutor on ihaveamathdegree.com have a math degree?

Yes. We do not hire anyone that does not have a math degree. Tutors must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.

How many students can be supported with one package?

Two.

Why is ihaveamathdegree.com a better option than other math tutoring companies?

We focus solely on math, we are more affordable, and our tutors have skill sets that should guarantee effective results. We only hire tutors with math degrees to ensure that they have the skills to provide quality sessions. Our math tutors have to pass certain exams created by us to show us that they can tutor certain subjects. Some tutoring companies charge more than us and provide college students as their tutors. We charge less and have vetted professionals with degrees as our tutors.

What does it mean when a package is valid for only a certain amount of time?

It means that from the date of purchase, the student(s) must use however many hours in a certain amount of time. For example, a 5-Hour Package is valid for 6 months. This means that the student can use those 5 hours whenever they choose, subject to availability, within 6 months from the date of purchase.

Which package is the best?

It depends on your needs. If a student needs to study for a final exam, then they would not need a 40-Hour Package. 1 Hour or a 5-Hour Package may suffice. However, if a student wants to have a tutor for the entire school year, then a 40-Hour Package would be best, as it is a lot of time to spread around, and the 40-Hour Package is valid for 12 months.
